You punished them and brought them to ruin you wiped out all memory of them.ġ5 You have enlarged the nation, LORD you have enlarged the nation. Let them see your zeal for your people and be put to shame let the fire reserved for your enemies consume them.ġ2 LORD, you establish peace for us all that we have accomplished you have done for us.ġ3 LORD our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone do we honor.ġ4 They are now dead, they live no more their spirits do not rise. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.ġ0 But when grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil and do not regard the majesty of the LORD.ġ1 LORD, your hand is lifted high, but they do not see it. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city God makes salvation its walls and ramparts.Ģ Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.ģ You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.Ĥ Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.ĥ He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low he levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust.Ħ Feet trample it down – the feet of the oppressed, the footsteps of the poor.ħ The path of the righteous is level you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth.Ĩ Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.ĩ My soul yearns for you in the night in the morning my spirit longs for you. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Said the tried apostle Paul: "He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. He will give them the wisdom which their varied necessities demand. He is able and willing to bestow upon His servants all the help they need. The strength of those who love and serve Him will be renewed day by day. He is working out His will, doing all things well in behalf of His people. In the darkest days, when appearances seem most forbidding, have faith in God. He watches over His children with a love that is measureless and everlasting. His love is as far above all other love as the heavens are above the earth. He has means for the removal of every difficulty, that those who serve Him and respect the means He employs may be sustained. His power is absolute, and it is the pledge of the sure fulfillment of His promises to all who trust in Him. To the omnipotence of the King of kings our covenant-keeping God unites the gentleness and care of the tender shepherd. Despondency in God's service is sinful and unreasonable.
